Quartz Opens Submissions for 2022 Best Companies for Remote Workers Rankings
New York, NY (December 14, 2021) — Digital media publisher Quartz today announced the second year of its Best Companies for Remote Workers program, a global ranking to recognize employers that are setting the standard for distributed work. Submissions will open January 5th, 2022, and the deadline to apply is March 18, 2022. Winners will be announced in Fall 2022.
Whether their workforce is fully or partially remote, the best companies for remote workers understand that the remote-employee experience needs more than a virtual approximation of a physical office. It requires norms and policies that help people succeed no matter where they are or how far away they may be from the actual power centers of the organization. Quartz’s Best Companies for Remote Workers recognizes the companies building this future.
The global ranking is free to apply to and will be determined by employer and employee surveys conducted by the Best Companies Group, an independent research firm specializing in identifying and recognizing great places to work. Requirements for application include:
- Organizations must have at least 25 full-time permanent employees and at least 25 full-time permanent employees working remotely. If an employer has more than 100 permanent full-time employees, at least 25% of this workforce must work remotely for the company to be eligible.
- For the purpose of this program,“working remotely” is defined as working away from a traditional office at least 75% of the time, in a workspace that is neither affiliated with nor furnished by the employer.
The inaugural list of companies can be found here. The distinction of being on Quartz’s Best Places to Work Remotely list helps potential future employees around the world to understand a company’s brand and its approach to remote work. Honorees are included in additional coverage in Quartz At Work, Quartz’s renowned vertical on the modern workplace. This is a global ranking, and Quartz encourages submissions from anywhere in the world.
